Before you can accept sessions you pass an identity verification. It is the only check there is, and it is worth being precise about what that means.
What it is
We confirm you are who you say you are. That is the whole check.
What it is not
We do not run criminal background checks. We do not check employment history. We do not call references. If anybody tells a client otherwise, they are wrong, and we will not let that claim stand on our own site either.
We say this plainly because the alternative is worse. A safety promise we cannot keep is the most expensive kind of promise there is, and the first time it failed it would be your reputation in the story as much as ours.
Why it helps you
Somebody is about to hand their phone, their family and four minutes of their vacation to a stranger who knocked on their afternoon. The check is small, but it is the difference between a platform and a classified ad, and it is part of why they press the button at all.
What it costs you
Nothing, and a few minutes. There is no equipment to buy, no fee to join, and no portfolio to submit. You need to be 18 or older with a modern phone, and you need to be who you said you were.
